Hearing a petition filed by a real estate promoter Md Ismail who alleged that he could not carry on construction work at Maheshtala due to the syndicates, Justice Dipankar Dutta said the situation is alarming and such rackets are there across the state. The Calcutta High Court on Monday asked West Bengal government to take steps to check the rise of illegal syndicates controlling construction work.Hearing a petition filed by a real estate promoter Md Ismail who alleged that he could not carry on construction work at Maheshtala due to the syndicates, Justice Dipankar Dutta said the situation is alarming and such rackets are there across the state. The judge also asked the police to file a report on Ismail’s complaint within a week.
