Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meet the Chief Ministers of drought-hit Telangana and Madhya Pradesh Chandrashekhar Rao and Shivraj Singh Chouhan respectively in New Delhi on Tuesday.The separate meetings with the Chief Ministers are a part of the Prime Minister’s exercise to review the situation in 11 drought-hit states.The Prime Minister has already met the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. During those meetings, he had said that the Centre and the states will have to work together to mitigate the problems faced by the people due to drought.<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Prime Minister Modi had pitched for focus on medium and long term solutions for drought-proofing.He laid stress on the use of technologies like remote sensing and satellite imaging for planning of water conservation and recharge structures.The Prime Minister had also stressed the need for changing cropping patterns based on scientific advice, use of drip and sprinkler irrigation for increasing water use efficiency, community participation, especially women, for better water management.
