According to forest officials, villagers had complained of citing a leopard in the area of Umrale Budruk, Chachadgaon, Waghad, Nalegaon villages of Dindori tehsil. <!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>A leopard which had caused panic over the past 2-3 months, in the areas of Dindori tehsil in Nashik district was trapped and caged by the forest department.According to forest officials, villagers had complained of citing a leopard in the area of Umrale Budruk, Chachadgaon, Waghad, Nalegaon villages of Dindori tehsil. The leopard had attacked 5-6 cows and their calves. The leopard had also attacked a bull in the recent past and its presence had frightened the villagers who demanded that the leopard be caged.The forest officials then laid a trap near the area of Kholyamori in the fields. The officials kept a bait in the cage and managed to trap the leopard. The man-animal conflict in the region has been growing day by day. Wild life activits say that proper policy in this matter needs to be framed. Forester Sunil Wadekar stated that the caged leopards are chipped and then released back into the wild.
