An experiment carried out on health benefits of chanting Vedas in Rajasthan would be one of the presentations on “Bharatiya Knowledge System” at an international conference to be held next month in Nagpur.The conference “Research for Resurgence” being organised by the RSS-affiliated Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal from February 11 to 13 will underline “need for paradigm shift in academic research”.<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>”Research should have a futuristic approach focusing on its relevance tomorrow,”according to Mukul Kanitkar, joint organising secretary of the Mandal.Papers on history and mythology would figure at the conference besides those on science and technology. Interestingly, a paper on communication would make references to Narad Muni, the mythological character known for carrying news from across the world.Among the 100 papers to be presented at the conference would be those on organic living, indegenous architecture and grassroots research in agriculture. The conference would be inaugurated by HRD minister Smriti Irani while transport and shipping minister Nitin Gadkari would attend the valedictory function. Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union minister Prakash Javadekar would be attending the conference, the third such since 2014. The first one was held in Bangaluru and the second in Jaipur.According to Mandal sources, 55 vice chancellors from central and state universitities have given their consent to attend the conference. Experts from various countries including US, Canada and Japan are expected to attend it.The mandal has recommended free education till class eight as part of the new education policy being drafted by the government. Irani has held several rounds of meetings with Sangh affiliates working in the field of education to take their suggestions on the education policy.
