<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>The Islamic State has confirmed the death of Kalyan boy Aman Tandel who had joined the ranks of the terrorist organisation in Syria. The IS released a martyr tribute in the name of Abu Umar al Hindi’ — Tandel’s Arabic name — alongside his photograph on its official media channel Khilafah news on Tuesday.Last month Tandel’s family in the Mumbai suburb of Kalyan received an anonymous call about his death. There was no confirmation on the same by the Indian security agencies or the government.IS releases details of death of its foreign recruits and hails them as `martyrs’. Its release on Tandel said he died in Raqqa — the centre of Caliphate declared by IS in Syria.In a propaganda video released by IS earlier this year, Tandel along with other Indian recruits and friend Fahad Sheikh vowed to take revenge against atrocities unleashed against Muslims in India. Tandel along with three other youth from Kalyan fled to Iraq in the guise of conducting pilgrimage and joined the IS in May 2014.Among them, Areeb Majeed returned last year following a six month stint with the terror group. He is currently facing trial and is confined in Arthur road prison. Saheem Tanki was announced dead. Sheikh is the only member of the group alive and fighting with the IS in Syria now.
