Referencing the BJP worker’s murder in Kannur on Wednesday, BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao called the violence under CPI-M led Kerala “political terrorism.”
BJP worker Remith was killed in front of a petrol pump in Pinarayi village around 10 am, a police official said. According to sources, Remith’s father was also murdered a few years ago.
This incident comes in the wake of the killing of 52-year-old CPI-M grassroots leader K Mohanan, who was hacked to death by suspected RSS activists on Monday.
Both of these murders took place in the assembly constituency of Dharmadom represented by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
“Local state police have become spectators. BJP is seen as a very potent political power that is on the threshold of a major success in Kerala,” said Rao.
“The National Council organised in Kozhikode has been a hugely successful event that carried the message of BJP across Kerala.
“A lot of murderous assaults are attempts at diverting public attention from the corruption and misgovernance in Kerala,” he added.
Rao said that BJP president Amit Shah has condemned the murder and expressed his sympathies to the victim’s family.
Rao also said that there was a murderous assault on the mother of the victim too.
He also demanded that the case should be handed over to the CBI, “We demand that the state government must hand over the case to the CBI. We have no faith in the state govt and state police because they are under the influence of the chief minister.”
Attacking the Left, he said, “Is this the democracy which the Left government has in Kerala? Is this how CPM knows how to fight elections? You have Left goondas wrecking this kind of havoc without it being panned by the media. This is political terrorism.
“We want answerability and accountability from the Kerala government.”
