This year, the age-old festival of Lohri is being celebrated with pomp and show at various schools and colleges in Amritsar, stressing the need to educate girls to make them self-reliant.Girl students clad in colourful traditional attires participated in singing and dancing and organised a kite-flying competition.”Earlier this festival was celebrated for boys.
