The MiG-27 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force has reportedly crashed about five kilometers from the Jodhpur airbase. No injuries have been reported yet, according to Times Now. However, two houses were damaged in the crash.

The Indian Express reported that a man who was on a motorcycle was injured in the incident. He got hit by a burning portion of the plane.

Air Force sources said that the pilots were ejected safely after the engine failed. “The plane was on a routine sortie from Jodhpur airbase to Uttarlai airbase in Barmer when it crashed,” the report quoted Defence Spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha as saying.

The plane crashed adjacent to a house in an open area in Mahaveer Nagar, SHO Basni Police Station Rajesh Yadav said.

The area has been cordoned off and police officials have reached the spot. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
