Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the adopted son of Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, was crowned as the titular head of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family. He got engaged to Trishika Kumari, who hails from the Dungarpur royal family in Rajasthan this year. Now, the royal wedding is set to take place on June 27.It is reported that the formal “lagna pathrika” ceremony took place on Monday morning at the Chamundi Thotti of the Mysuru Palace. The wedding date was finalised at this ceremony where both Yaduveer Wadiyar and his fiance were present. <!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Yaduveer was adopted by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar on February 23, 2015, and he was anointed as the titular head on May 28. He brought back the tradition of numerous rituals including Khas Durbar, the private sittings at the magnificent Amba Vilas in the Mysuru Palace etc.

The Maharani has to follow certain rituals during this period – which was not done during last year’s Dasara. Tradition was broken when Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar died on December 10, 2013. Since there was no titular head in 2014, the royal sword was placed on the throne during the Dasara celebrations.
