<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Hours after hacking NDTV Consulting Editor Barkha Dutt’s Twitter account, a group called ‘Legion’ hacked senior journalist Ravish Kumar’s official Twitter handle“We use twitter as a means to reach the public. We don’t just hack twitter accounts. Go through the data and find out,” the hackers said in a series of tweets posted from Ravish’s account.Though the tweets from the handle are now deleted, the hacking group has warned that their next action will be against former IPL chairman Lalit K Modi. “Coming up next [email protected] leaks. Stay tuned.””Email, Twitter accounts of senior NDTV journalists have been hacked. Attempts are being made to use emails out of context. We are asking relevant authorities, including courts, to take strong action,” said NDTV in a statement posted on its website. The same group had claimed to have hacked businessman Vijay Mallya’s Twitter and email accounts and also posted some of his personal and financial details, including passwords, addresses and phone number.Earlier on November 30, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account was hacked and some remarks full of expletives were posted.Delhi police has said that the Twitter accounts of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress were operated from five countries— Sweden, Romania, the US, Canada and Thailand. Trouble brewing between DU VC Yogesh Tyagi and HRD ministry?

<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Trouble seems to be brewing between the Delhi University and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, sources in the university told DNA.According to sources, the Vice Chancellor of the university Yogesh Tyagi recently met with senior officials in the HRD Ministry and expressed difficulties in carrying out his duty as the head of the university. Rumours were rife about Tyagi wanting to resign from his position as well. However, this newspaper could not confirm the authenticity of the information. The reason being cited for this trouble is the way the ministry wants the VC to function. A professor close to the VC said: “In our last meeting with the VC, he told us that he wants to run the university according to the ordinances and statutes but is facing difficulty in doing so. He clearly hinted that he is facing difficulties from the government in functioning, be it in hiring of faculty members or other functions of the university, like appointing college principals.”There are around 20 colleges in the university that are currently running without a permanent Principal. “The ministry wants their own people to be appointed as the principals in colleges but that is not happening. Any meeting with the ministry officials is like a diktat and any university VC who does not want to follow the diktat is shown the door,” the source added.Sources in Tyagi’s office said that it has been a long time coming since any official file related to crucial academic matters in the university had been moved.A few days ago, Tyagi also had a tiff with a senior HRD ministry official in a meeting. After Tyagi took over as the Vice Chancellor, he was seen as being close to the BJP government. However, the current developments cast a doubt over this theory. Attempts to inquire the information from the VC went futile.

The society cannot be benefited till politics of vote bank is pursued,” Kumar, former president of JNU students union said.”When we talk against Modi, were are labelled as traitors,” Kumar said. He said “division” of society on the basis of caste and creed should be stopped.”Raising issues of love jihad, ghar vapasi and beef will not help. Maharashyra: Bunding wall at Ramkund to be rebuild

Scarcity of water has left the Ramkund in the river Godavari dry once again after it was filled with water brought by tankers. The people’s representatives, NGOs and the municipal administration is trying out various measures to meet the need for water. In one such measure suggested by the mayor and the deputy mayor, soon there may be plans to reduce the length of the Ramkund once again by building a bunding wall separating it from the rest of the flow of the river. The wall, which existed earlier, was dismantled during the Kumbhmela last year to accommodate large number of pilgrims taking bath in the Ramkund.<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>After the Ramkund went dry for the first time in the history, the purohits demanded that water to be released in the holy pond as large number of pilgrims visit the place. Many solutions were made to fill it with water, the one Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) adopted was pouring water through tankers. However, the Ramkund with its extended capacity now needs about 20 lakh litres of water to fill it; whereas the tankers could hardly manage 36,000 litres of water. The extended capacity has now become a problem, hence, the solution is to rebuild the bunding wall thereby reducing its capacity.Earlier, the NMC had suggested digging bore wells near Ramkund to extract water and fill the pond but this was largely objected to by the NGOs. The only solution was to fill the pond with the help of tankers. But to get the private tankers to fill the pond to its capacity every day is asking for too much.”The NMC is playing around with Ramkund and its sentiments”, stated Devang Jani, a petitioner who has filed a PIL to remove the concretisation of the river bed. “I had opposed this measure of releasing water by tankers as we are not utilising a proper solution to the problem. Many measures like opening up of the flood gates below the Victoria bridge to release water in the Ramkund directly were suggested. The gates are not in working condition presently but can be repaired and used as there is water behind the gates for up to 5.5km stretch at least. This water can be utilised,” Jani stated. If the gates can’t be repaired, the water can be lifted by pumps, purified and released in the Ramkund. The system of purification with pipe lines exists at the base of the Ramkund, Jani suggested. The NMC, meanwhile, released water from Gandhi talav (pond) but this water is totally polluted as boating is carried out in Gandhi talav. Attempts were also made to release filtered water through water pipelines, but this was strongly objected and hence stopped immediately. The tankers are doing their best but it is not enough, Jani opined. Hence, there are plans to build the wall once again and reduce the capacity so that tankers can fill the holy pond. This measure is again criticised by the NGOs.
