We are too busy running big country to react to ‘dramebaaz’: Kiren Rijiju on Arvind Kejriwal’s attack

With Arvind Kejriwal launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister of State Kiren Rijiju said on Sunday the Centre has no time to respond to each and every allegation of these “dramebaaz”.The people of Delhi have given AAP an opportunity with a huge mandate to serve the public but they are losing the opportunity and doing drama, the Union Minister of State for Home charged. His remarks come a day after Kejriwal accused Modi of “declaring Emergency in Delhi” after AAP lawmaker Dinesh Mohaniya was arrested on charges of molestation. “Yeh jo Arvind Kejriwalji ko jyaada jawaab na de toh thik hai. (it is better not to react much on Kejriwal’s statements).<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>We are so busy running such a big country and people have given us an opportunity to serve it,” he said in Hyderabad. “Kejriwal and his associates woh har samay drama karke kuch na kuch natakiye dhangh se chizzo ko lana… unko kaam nahi hai kya (Arvind Kejriwal and his associates try to raise one or the other thing in a dramatic manner…is there no other work left for them),” Rijiju said.

The Prime Minister is a very busy man who always thinks of welfare of people and works for them and only thinks of the country. Who has got time to reply to every statement of Kejriwalji,” he said.”In dramebaazo ke saath jyada agar hum bhi acting karne lag jayenge toh desh ka bhala kaun karega (if we also start enacting dramas like these dramebaaz who will take care of the country?)” Rijiju asked.

Manish Sisodia, 65 AAP MLAs detained ahead of protest outside PM’s residence

The police has detained 65 AAP MLAs including the Delhi Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia ahead of his protest march to the Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi‘s residence to stop any “untoward incidents in a high security zone,” according to reports. The Delhi police told the reporters that the AAP leaders were detained for violating prohibitory orders around 7 racecourse. As a precautionary measure, Section 144 is imposed at 7 Racecourse and the entry and exit points to the Racecourse metro station were also closed.

In what could be seen as a reaction to the Centre returning AAP government’s key bills, Sisodia has decided to court arrest before Modi can “turn it around to have him arrested.” Also, another AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya was arrested amid high-drama on Saturday on charges of  molestation and sexual harassment, while he was addressing a press conference.

Mohaniya, who is also vice chairman of Delhi Jal Board, was picked up by a police team while addressing a press conference at his office in Khanpur. He was booked for allegedly misbehaving with a group of women who approached him with a complaint regarding water crisis in their locality.

Sisodia said although they were detained and taken to the Parliament Police Station, he and his partymen were ready to go to Tihar Jail. “Modiji, you have arrested us and kept us in Parliament Street Police Station. We are ready to go to Tihar Jail. But do not stop the work of Delhi,” he tweeted.

The AAP-BJP spats have been hitting the headlines since past few weeks. The political rivalry between the two parties have also amused the Tweeples; #ArrestMeModi was trending on twitter ahead of the planned march as various AAP leaders also took to twitter.

Earlier in the morning, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and MLAs had met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and decided to take out a march to 7 Racecourse on Sunday, to protest against a complaint filed against Sisodia, according to CNN-News18.

Manish Sisodia was on an official visit to the Ghazipur fruit and vegetable market on Saturday, where he interacted with the marketing traders. The president of the East Delhi’s vegetable market association, Surender Goswami later approached the police and alleged that Sisodia “lost his cool” and “adopted a dictatorial attitude” while he tried to flag the concerns of traders, according to a report in The Statesman.

Goswami alleged that after the argument grew more intense, Sisodia also asked his security personals to click his picture and he threatened to cancel the trader’s license, according to The Statesman.

Meanwhile, the Delhi police said that no complaint would be filed against the leader as no cognizable offence was found to be committed. in the matter. ANI also quoted the Special Commissioner, Law and Order, as saying that no action against Sisodia will be initiated as of now.

No police action has been initiated yet regarding this complaint: SBK Singh, Special Commissioners (Law & Order)

Nonetheless, Sisodia was quick to give this incident a political colour and tweeted out that he is sure that Modi will use the incident to corner him and thwart the “Delhi government’s work”. He also said that the Prime Minister was capable of turning a petty incident into a case of violence or eve-teasing against him. The AAP was quick to respond and party MLAs decided to meet the CM and take out a march to 7 Racecourse, where Manish Sisodia planned to also court arrest.

Sisodia also alleged that those who filed a complaint against him were indulging in illegal trade and they have threatened him to file a complaint against him.

“We are going to 7 RCR to surrender before PM today…Arrest us but do not stop our work,” Sisodia said while addressing reporters.

“We want to provide medicines, construct roads but you (PM Modi) prevent us from doing any work. You are arresting our leaders from live press conferences on the basis of petty charges,” he further said.

“I went to Ghazipur mandi yesterday, saw some people indulging in illegal practices. I warned them that if they continue, I’ll get their license canceled,” Sisodia said. “I scolded them too, they are saying I misbehaved. Yes, I did. If I see anyone indulge in illegal practices, I will scold them.”

BJP slams Kejriwal for ‘shielding’ Mohaniya; police says AAP MLA didn’t reply to notice

Htting out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal for shielding party MLA Dinesh Mohaniya using ’emergency-like’ situation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said the ‘circus of jokers’ won’t go on for long in Delhi and the Delhi Chief Minister would get what’s coming for him in the next assembly election.”The name of Arvind Kejriwal would be written in a paper of history as someone who knows less of politics but sits on dharna. He talks about good administration in newspapers and spends huge sum of money on ads. He talks nonsense. Someone has correctly said a circus of the jokers is going on in Delhi. This won’t go for long as the people of Delhi have now recognised the circus and Kejriwal ji will get its answer in the next election,” Minister of State for Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma told ANI.<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Resonating similar sentiments, BJP leader Satish Upadhyay told ANI that it should be decided whether there should be law and order or ‘goonda raaj’ in Delhi. “Within three days, two FIRs are registered against you. One day you slap a woman and the other day you slap an old man. Is there jungle raaj in Delhi’ Will you take law and order in your hand if you have come to power? The law and order should be maintained and the police are investigating. Now by holding press conference, will you glorify it? So wherever you are, police will obviously arrest you,” he added.Meanwhile, Mohaniya, who was arrested on assault charges earlier today, was sent to judicial custody till June 27. He was arrested by the Delhi Police while addressing a press conference at his office in Khanpur in South Delhi. Mohaniya, who is also the vice-chairman of Delhi Jal Board, was booked on June 23 after locals of Sangam Vihar alleged that the MLA and his supporters roughed them up and misbehaved with women in his office when they went to complain about irregular water supply.A case was registered under Section 506 (criminal intimidation), Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code at the Neb Sarai Police Station. The police also added Sections 354 and 354 (b).However, the MLA had rubbished the allegations, saying it was an attempt to defame his reputation as the water mafia is frustrated because of the Delhi Government’s crackdown. Another case has been registered against Mohaniya for allegedly slapping a 60-year-old man in Tughlaquabad area on Friday.A case has been registered against Mohaniya under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 341(punishment for wrongful restraint) and 34 (act done by several persons) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Govindpuri Police Station. The Delhi Police on Saturday said they were forced to arrest Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)?MLA Dinesh Mohaniya, as he did not respond to the notices served to him based on a complaint filed by a group of women who claim they were harassed by him. “We had served a notice to Dinesh Mohaniya based on a complaint that was filed by a group of women, who alleged that he had abused them when they approached him with a complaint on a water crisis in their locality and asked him to join the investigation. Despite that, he didn’t respond to the notice”, R.P. Upadhyay, Joint Commissioner Of Police (South East) said. Upadhyay said police is bound to arrest a defaulter if it does not cooperate with them.

AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya arrested: Modi, Jung have handed Kejriwal a loaded gun

What you gonna do when they come for you

Give Arvind Kejriwal more ammo to shoot at you

To have the police pick up AAP lawmaker Dinesh Mohaniya while he was addressing a media conference is taking the fight to the gutter.

Lt Governor Jung who is the second favourite target of Arvind Kejriwal couldn’t have done a more sterling job feeding the Delhi Chief Minister’s neurosis by sending in the police during the middle of a conference.

Even though Modi is not linked even tenuously to these incidents, for Kejriwal, it is all orchestrated by him.

The Lieutenant Governor owes an explanation.

Kejriwal is now one of the two shotgun barrels in India that are hot with constant indignation (the other is our friend Subramanian Swamy). For him, Mohaniya’s arrest couldn’t have been better scripted.

One has to ask why a man like Jung would give Kejriwal such a splendid opportunity. Even if the LG had received orders to go for it, did it really have to be like this? Dredge for virtue and you find none, except that it gives Kejriwal so much more fun. Talk about playing into his hands.

Would it really have mattered if Mohaniya had been arrested after the media had taken off? Did it have to turn into a spectacle more fitting for a B-grade movie?

What did Kejriwal do? The moment he heard about it, he accused Modi of declaring an Emergency, and he got listeners. He roped in the citizens of Delhi and told them that Modi is now arresting, raiding and filing false cases against individuals that the good people of the capital elected.

At this moment, blaming Modi is difficult because one cannot establish a nexus. The buck, for now, stops with the Lt Governor, and I think he owes the media an explanation for the intrusion.

If he is guilty, throw the book at him. But till then, it seems particularly stupid to send the cops in to arrest a man in the middle of a media conference.

The arrest reflects a bullying approach that is almost Nazi like in its persecution. The action was aggressive and petty, and gave the Modi government’s enemy number one Arvind Kejriwal a loaded gun.

Didn’t anybody think it through and say, “Hey, don’t make it so dramatic; just take him in when he comes out. Let’s not give Kejriwal so much ammo.” That lack of intelligence is appalling.

It is not as if the guy was armed or was holding people hostage. Such a dramatic arrest seemed like a bad move.

Molestation case: AAP MLA Mohaniya sent to judicial custody; Kejriwal accuses Modi of unleashing ’emergency’

What msg does Modi want to give to everyone?” Mohaniya is the eight AAP MLA to be arrested by Delhi Police since the party came to power for the second time in Delhi February 2015. This is the second case registered against the Sangam Vihar legislator in one week. In his complaint, the 60-year-old man told police that Mohaniya allegedly slapped him, and his men thrashed him, when he approached the MLA to complain about severe water crisis in his locality on Wednesday, a senior police official said.

The FIR was registered under IPC Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) against Mohaniya and his men at Govindpuri Police Station, the official said.

This is the second complaint against him in four days. Mohaniya was reportedly taken away from a live press conference on Saturday.

On 23 June, a complaint was filed against him for misbehaving with a woman, who had also visited his office to complain about their water crisis. Speaking to ANI, the woman said,”He pushed me & other women, abused us. We want a case against Dinesh Mohaniya, he should be arrested.”

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal tweeted in Mohaniya’s defense and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of terrorising the MLAs of his party. He also declared it an “emergency”.

“Dinesh mohaniya arrested from his press conference in front of all TV cameras. What msg does Modi want to give to everyone?” he said in another tweet.

Mohaniya denied all charges and said, “BJP is trying to divert issue from MM Khan murder case by levelling false charges against me.”

AAP leader, Ashutosh, however accused Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung of slapping false charges against his party’s MLAs.
