JNU students demand FIR against professor sacked for sexual abuse

The students’ demand comes at a time, when JNU is under criticism over the maximum number of sexual abuse cases among all higher education institutes in the country. The varsity had last week directed its students and faculty to refrain from “publicising” such incidents and maintain strict “confidentiality” in such cases.

GMR was also receiving such threats from time to time in the past, though no investigation was carried out so far in the matter, they said. In a letter addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassy had requested the government to enhance the security at the GMR offices but it was not immediately known if more personnel were deployed.
