Kirti Azad terms Arun Jaitley ‘inefficient’, seeks his resignation

<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Continuing his tirade against Arun Jaitley, suspended BJP leader and MP Kirti Azad on Sunday termed the Finance Minister as an “inefficient” person and sought his resignation holding him responsible for the hardships faced by the common man post-demonetisation.”It is Arun Jaitley who is bringing disrepute to the government… It is he who is responsbile for the hardships faced by the common people post-demonetization. The Finance Minister is an inefficient person and is also not an economist. He should resign,” he told reporters here.”Our Prime Minister has taken a decision (of demonetizing high value notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000) and banks are indulged in converting crores of black money into white. In whose jurisdiction these banks come? These bank come under the ambit of the Finance Ministry,” said Azad, who represents Darbhanga in Lok Sabha. The former cricketer was suspended by party chief Amit Shah on December 23 last year for publicly targeting the Finance Minister for “irregularities” in DDCA, of which Jaitley was the President for 13 years till 2013.He had also criticised Jaitley two months back saying that those “rejected” by the electorate have not only been made ministers but have become “all in all” in the government and the party.Azad attacked the government, saying it would have made sufficient arrangements and preparations to deal with the situation post-demonetisation “had its intentions been clear”.”The government’s policymakers do not have practical knowledge. Their all assessments are based on far from reality,” he alleged. While frequent raids are being conducted across the country to catch people having black money, why such raids were not conducted earlier by the Finance Ministry, Azad wondered.Cashless transaction system, which is being aggressively promoted and popularised by the government, seems to be difficult to succeed in a country like India, Azad said and added that e-payment is not cent per cent safe and secure.Demonetization has its adverse impact on farmers, labourers, workers, small traders, jewellers, he said adding that even vegetable growers are not getting fair price of their produce.”There are people (in the party), who have been rejected by the people in the elections, have not only been made ministers (in the Union government) but have actually become ‘sarve-sarva’ (all in all) both in the government and in the organisation,” Azad had told a press meet at his residence on October 23, 2016 in his Lok Sabha constituency Darbhanga. He was apparently referring to Jaitley who had lost in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls but was made Union minister.

And today, after officially talking to her, she has agreed to join the party on November 13.””She has had a long career in the Bharatiya Janata Party. She has also contested for elections in the past. It was her great initiative to gather the people of Purvanchal with Delhi, being a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. And I feel, when she will join the AAP, our party will gain strength. And after her joining the party, the people of Purvanchal and women will join the party,” he added.Azad has been the BJP’s Delhi unit spokesperson and has served as its vice-president in the past. DDCA row: Delhi court records Chetan Chauhan’s statement against Arvind Kejriwal in defamation issue

A city court on Monday concluded recording the statement of DDCA Vice President Chetan Chauhan who alleged that he and the cricketing body were “defamed” by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal before the media. The statement was recorded during pre-summoning evidence before Metropolitan Magistrate Abhilash Malhotra in a criminal defamation complaint filed by Chauhan against Kejriwal and suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad for allegedly defaming Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) by making “scandalous” remarks. He said his image as well as that of DDCA’s had been sullied in public eye. “The statements given by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Kirti Azad were defamatory. They have defamed me and DDCA and also reduced our image in public eye,” Chauhan said in his statement through advocate Sangram Patnaik.<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>The court, after concluding the recording of the former cricketer’s statement, fixed the matter for April 29 for recording further pre-summoning evidence. Chauhan had earlier alleged before the court that Kejriwal had made “defamatory, slandering and incorrect” statements about DDCA before the media. His petition has claimed that defamatory statements were made by Kejriwal and Azad, who himself is a member of DDCA, “to remain in the public eye and to gain political mileage”.”The aforesaid actions of the accused have severely damaged the credibility and reputation of the complainant in the eyes of thousands of cricket lovers, citizens of India as well as internationally. “It has always been a serious apprehension, which has come true in this case, where provocative statements, irrespective of their falsity, have entered the realm of the internet and social media, and are being republished and forwarded again and again making it next to impossible to squelch the same,” the petition has said. The plea alleged that Kejriwal had made “scandalous” remarks against DDCA on national television due to which the cricketing body and Chauhan have suffered irreparable loss in the public eye. It has claimed Kejriwal’s “false” statements were immediately endorsed and repeated by Azad.It also referred to Kejriwal’s interview to a news channel in which he had allegedly said that apart from the financial irregularities, there were other major wrong-doings in DDCA, including “sex racket”. The plea, while denying all allegations levelled by Kejriwal and Azad, has said they have purportedly given “wholly incorrect and false, baseless and grossly defamatory” statements against the cricketing body.

Pathankot terror attack: Punjab police alerted Centre at 7:30 AM on Jan 1, claims Punjab CM

Investigators who are looking into the case are strongly suspecting that the first group comprising two terrorists had managed t enter the airbase around noon on January 1 itself and remained undetected for the entire day.
They are also looking into the possibility that the group of four terrorists may have also joined the first one much before the agencies could point out that they could be heading towards the airbase.”We are not ruling out a foul play and an insider’s job. Many things and people involved and related to the incident are unexplained and under suspicion,” said a source.
