In Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, a 32-year-old farmer was arrested for torturing and stoning his 11-month-old son to death and burying the body in his farm at Jameen Ilampillai village. Tamizhselvan was arrested by the police for killing his child. The daily reported that P Tamizhselvan was arrested in December 2015 for torturing his wife Revathi and pushing her to commit suicide. Tamizhselvan had suspected that his wife was having an affair and used to torture her. She consumed poison and committed suicide in December 2015. The police had arrested him for abetting his wife’s suicide. Police told the daily that Tamizhselvan had a four-year-old girl, Mallika, and a 11-month-old son with his wife. In his absence, Tamizhselvan’s sister has been looking after the two children. He was released on bail on March 18.The daily reports that upon his release he went to his sister’s house and forcibly took the two children back to his house. When his father found the grandson missing he filed a police complaint. Tamizhselvan had disappeared and the police were hunting for him.On Wednesday, he surrendered to the village administrative officer Jameen Illampillai.
