Residents in villages of Bhaygaon, Dolhar and Mal reported tremors of light impact around 2 to 4 am.These tremors were felt about four to five times within a period of two hours. Villagers reported that latches of the doors made trembling noise and utensils fell down from the rack. Villagers who realised that this was an earthquake came out of their houses. The tremors were reported to the village police who in turn informed the district administration.“The tremors were felt in the regions of Peth and tehsil officers have visited the villages. The severity of the earthquake as noted on the Richter scale of 1.2 magnitude and was very low. But as such tremors have been reported since last few days in this area,” saidRamdas Khedkar, resident district collector.Khedkar also stated that as such tremors were reported earlier also and the villagers have been advised to take care. They have also been communicated instructions on what to do and how to react in such circumstances. “The tehsil administration has also been asked to keep a watch, take precautions and provide relief and care when needed”, Khedkar stated.Peth is a hilly tribal region in Nashik district.
