<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>On Monday, almost 36 hours after the Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohhammed terrorists attacked the Army brigade headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri, killing 17 soldiers and injuring over 30, the Army called off its mopping operation. All the four terrorists involved in the ‘fidayeen’ attack were gunned down by the Army.Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh told that the Army operations have been called off after conducting a thorough search of the military complex at Uri and the are around it.Meanwhile, one more of Indian Army jawan succumbed to injuries at the Army Research and Referral hospital in Delhi where he was airlifted. He said the total recoveries from the slain terrorists, included, four AK 47 rifles, four Under Barrel Grenade Launchers (UBGL), 39 UBGL grenades, five hand grenades, two radio sets, two GPSs, two map sheets, two matrix sheets, one mobile phone and a large number of food and medicine packets having Pakistani markings.”We have displayed considerable restraint while handling the terrorist situation both along the Line of Control and in hinterland,” said the DGMO. “We have the desired capability to respond to such blatant acts of aggression and violence as deemed appropriate by us,” he warned, adding: “We reserve the right to respond to any act of the adversary at a time and place of own choosing.”Pointing that the infiltration attempts by terrorists have shown a marked increase in comparison to the past three-four years, he said in 2016, there have been 17 infiltration bids foiled by the Indian Army along the Line of Control (LoC). Of a total of 110 terrorists eliminated in J&K, 31 have been killed while they were attempting to cross the LoC.”It actually indicates a desperate attempt from across the LoC to infiltrate more terrorists into Kashmir with a view to create disturbance and foment unrest in our area,” he said and added,”The last two infiltration attempts, on September 11, in Poonch and on September 18 at Uri have been successfully thwarted by the Indian Army by killing of four terrorists in each of the operations.”
