Two CID offices of the Bomb Disposal Squad died after being injured while diffusing crude bombs at West Bengal’s Malda district on Monday. The officers, identified as Bishudanand Mishra and Subrata Chowdhury were injured while diffusing crude bombs that were recovered from a blast site, which claimed four lives.The three officers were rushed to the Malda Medical College and Hospital with injuries. The two officers were being shifted to a hospital in Kolkata from Malda for treatment when they died. While four people were left dead, six suffered serious injuries. According to sources, the deceased and the injured were making crude bombs at a house when, accidentally, one such bomb went off. When the high-intensity bomb exploded, it created a loud sound and shook the entire area.
