<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh asserted on Monday that he would “throw the Badals into jail if found guilty of misconduct” if Congress forms the next government in the state. He said that he would review all decisions taken by the SAD-BJP state government in the last three months.Accusing both Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Deputy Sukhbir Singh Badal of circumventing established rules and norms to push their electoral agenda, Amarinder said, “The game plan of the Akalis had been thoroughly exposed and only a total rout in the polls could really teach them a lesson. “I will review every act of the Badals and throw them into jail if found guilty of any criminal act or misdemeanour if Congress formed the next government,” he said in a statement.Any decision taken in violation of established rules would be revoked, and the accountability would be fixed. Action would also be taken against civil servants found facilitating such violation, the former Punjab Chief Minister claimed. The senior Congress leader also hit out at the special session convened by the state Cabinet on Monday. The Governor has refused to give his assent to the ordinances and bills proposed by the Akali government in the state, thus it is clear that there is sheer desperation behind the summoning of the special session of the Assembly today, he said.Amarinder reiterated his request to the Election Commission for “immediate imposition of the Code of Conduct in the state to prevent further deterioration of political environment in the run-up to the Assembly elections.” The Congress leader also welcomed Suresh Gogia from TMC into the party fold. Punjab goes to polls next year.
